Shoe Size Calculator
Measure your foot in centimetres and convert instantly between US, UK and EU sizes — for men's and women's shoes.
How shoe size conversion works
Shoe sizes are just labels for foot length — and every labelling system (US, UK, EU) starts from a different zero point. Measuring your foot in centimetres gives you the one number every brand's chart understands. Trace both feet, use the longer foot, and compare against the chart below.
| Foot (cm) | US Women's | US Men's | UK | EU |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 22.5 | 6 | — | 3.5 | 36 |
| 23.5 | 7 | 5.5 | 4.5 | 37.5 |
| 24.5 | 8.5 | 7 | 6 | 39.5 |
| 25.5 | 10 | 8.5 | 7.5 | 41.5 |
| 26.5 | 12 | 10.5 | 9.5 | 43.5 |
| 27.5 | — | 12 | 11 | 45.5 |
| 28.5 | — | 13.5 | 12.5 | 47 |
Charts vary slightly between brands, so treat this as your starting point and always check the specific brand's size guide before ordering.
Measuring & fit tips
- Measure in the evening. Feet swell during the day and are at their largest by evening — that's the size you want to fit.
- Measure both feet. Most people have one foot slightly larger; always fit the bigger one.
- Leave 0.5–1 cm of room. Your toes need wiggle space — a thumb's width between your longest toe and the shoe's end is the classic check.
- Wear your usual socks. Measure in the socks (or none) you'll actually wear with the shoes.
- Don't ignore width. Length is only half the story — if shoes pinch across the ball of your foot, look for wide (W/EE) fittings rather than a longer size.
Frequently asked questions
Are US men's and women's shoe sizes the same?
No — they run about 1.5 sizes apart, so a US women's 8 is roughly a US men's 6.5. The calculator above converts from your foot length, which sidesteps the confusion entirely.
Why does my shoe size differ between brands?
Brands use different lasts (foot models), and EU half-sizes don't map perfectly to US sizes. Your foot length in centimetres is the constant — compare it to each brand's own size chart.
Should I size up for running shoes or wide feet?
For running shoes, go a half to full size up from your measured size so your toes have room on impact. For wide feet, look for W or EE widths rather than sizing up in length, which causes heel slip.
How do I measure my foot accurately?
Stand (don't sit) on a sheet of paper, trace around your foot holding the pen upright, then measure from heel to longest toe in centimetres. Do it in the evening, wearing the socks you'll use with the shoes.
